The Service Support book from the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is concerned with ensuring that the customer has access to the appropriate services to support the business functions of the organization.
The Service Support book is often refered to as the "blue book" due to the color of its cover.
Service Support is operational in nature and, by its name, exists to support the IT services provided to the organization, its customers and users. The goal is to achieve quality in the IT services that are provided.
There is one function and five processes discussed in this book:
ITIL is a Registered Trade Mark, and a Registered Community Trade Mark of the Office of Government Commerce, and is registered in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The trade mark symbol should be inferred whereever the term "ITIL" appears in this website.
